target your market because you will have a niche market for your
products and it is no good trying to keep everybody happy. You will
need to identify your unique selling quality for your customers this

to offer them particular requirements. You need to be able to tell
them why they should specifically buy from you, again, what is your
unique selling point. You will need to study where your potential
customers will hear about your product or service, where will they
buy from you, do they always choose the cheapest option or are they
open minded to more expensive ideas, how are your products or
services going to be distributed and delivered and what kind of
support are you going to offer after the sale. These are all
questions you need answers for if you are going to survive in
business. Identify your key clients and upgrade them onto new
products as well as find new customers to speak to. It is really
important that you understand customer care. New clients will judge
you on many things such as your courtesy on the telephone, your
speed when fulfilling orders, your accuracy when packing the
products, in other words, making sure the right products is sent. It
is important to build a good solid relationship with your customers
and not to try and sell them everything, this will severely affect
their trust in you because if you try and sell them something that
isn’t relevant to them they will know, and you will lose a
customer. It is better to have a long term view of keeping a client
on a long term basis. Cross selling and up selling is a good way of
increasing your sales and also asking for referrals is a way of
getting your current customers to speak on your behalf and they
normally already trust the person recommending so it is an easy
sale. It is important that customer complaints are dealt with
courteously and efficiently, always empathise and set about sorting
it out quickly. All
of these points are taken care of through monthly training,
supporting you in your new business.
